Course Objectives
  • Develop a deep understanding of the key concepts of Hatha Yoga and the body to ensure a proper and impactful practice
  • Gain a profound understanding of the various Hatha poses and sequences in order to execute them safely and effectively
  • Explore other practices like pranayama (breath work) beyond asanas to complement your Hatha Yoga practice in boosting your overall health
  • Master the art of conducting authentic, inclusive, inspiring and safe classes for your students of all ages, levels and body type
  • Connect with like-minded students and teachers to share and learn ways to grow as a practitioner, teacher and community

  • History and philosophical foundations of Yoga
  • Study of Upanishads, Panchakosha, Trigunas, Tridoshas & more
  • Key Yogic Text
  • Discover & appreciate the relevance of Yoga to our lives today

2. Subtle anatomy

  • Key concepts and the uses of Prana, Chakras, Nadis, Panchakosha

3. Introduction to Hatha Yoga

  • History and philosophical foundations of Hatha Yoga practice
  • Key concepts of Hatha Yoga practice – the fundamentals; dos and don’ts; breath, mind and movement

4. Anatomy & Physiology

  • Study of the human body and its relevance in Hatha Yoga practice – body, skeletal & muscular systems
  • Study of the human movement and biomechanics and the role they play in ensuring a safe and injury-free practice

5. Principles of asanas

  • In-depth study of Hatha poses, Sun Salutations and other Hatha sequences – the benefits, techniques, alignment and variations of Hatha poses with and without props
  • Common mistakes and how to avoid injuries

To bridge the gap between freshly graduating from our TTC to teaching in-studio classes, we’re offering the opportunity for you to accumulate teaching experience via our 20hr Internship Programme. Upon completion, you may have the chance to join Jal as Part-Time or Full-Time instructor.

From this year onwards, experience a more flexible academy structure and learn at your own pace.

In the event you miss any of the weekends, you can find the next available slot and do a make up session without any extra charge.

Hence, completing the necessary hours to finish your course.

Abhijeet

Certified Jal Yoga Instructor

Growing up on the ghats of the spiritual city of Varanasi, India, his interest in Yoga sparked during high school days, when he spent a week at an ashram as a volunteer. Already enjoying the study of Sanskrit mantras and Vedic culture, he knew he wanted to pursue higher studies in this field and make a difference to others’ lives through his learning and experience.

After completing his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Yoga Therapy from S-VYASA Yoga University in India, he immersed himself into the world of teaching Yoga and meditation. He has earned an excellent reputation in a short period of time as a supportive and friendly spirit with an ability to permeate his classes with positivity and passion.

Basava

Certified Jal Yoga Instructor

Hailing from Gadag, Karnataka in India, Basava has been practicing Yoga for the past 7 years. His motivation to start stemmed from the lost of his beloved grandma to bronchial asthma. He learnt that Yoga could help people with this condition, and that it could have helped her as well.

He soon got the opportunity to practise it during his college days and it was also beneficial to him. Besides reading, Yoga became his other passion. To help others lead a healthy and peaceful life, he thus pursued a degree in yogic science.

Being in Singapore for the past four years, he hopes to help others better their lives and improve their well-being.
