Growing up on the ghats of the spiritual city of Varanasi, India, his interest in Yoga sparked during high school days, when he spent a week at an ashram as a volunteer. Already enjoying the study of Sanskrit mantras and Vedic culture, he knew he wanted to pursue higher studies in this field and make a difference to others’ lives through his learning and experience.
After completing his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Yoga Therapy from S-VYASA Yoga University in India, he immersed himself into the world of teaching Yoga and meditation. He has earned an excellent reputation in a short period of time as a supportive and friendly spirit with an ability to permeate his classes with positivity and passion.
Qualifications:
Hailing from Gadag, Karnataka in India, Basava has been practicing Yoga for the past 7 years. His motivation to start stemmed from the lost of his beloved grandma to bronchial asthma. He learnt that Yoga could help people with this condition, and that it could have helped her as well.
He soon got the opportunity to practise it during his college days and it was also beneficial to him. Besides reading, Yoga became his other passion. To help others lead a healthy and peaceful life, he thus pursued a degree in yogic science.
Being in Singapore for the past four years, he hopes to help others better their lives and improve their well-being.
