Kids Aerial Yoga has the same benefits of typical Kid’s Yoga, but there are also additional sensory-cognitive and health benefits. The kids will be exploring moves in 3D motion and learn in 3 different dimensions, from the ground, in the air and also when they are in the fabric. Kids will benefit from spinal decompression, enhanced blood circulation, increased flexibility, strength and stamina, improved self-confidence and concentration.
Promote Healthy Brain Organization & Regulation
Kids Aerial Yoga helps the kids develop proper balance through what is known as vestibular input. Kids will experience movements in different orientations and directions to develop a strong sense of balance. They know exactly what their body needs, so some actively seek out vestibular input by hanging upside down or swing or rocking, while others may avoid having their feet off the ground at all. So with Aerial Yoga, it can provide many different kinds of sensory input with just one piece of equipment.
Furthermore, through proprioceptive input (sensation of movement, compression, and traction in a child’s joints), your kid will develop better body and spatial awareness, as they have to focus and be aware of how to work with the hammock in order to perform the poses without falling out of the hammock. Kids can benefit from this development in ways of reducing the chances of falling down, getting bruises from wild, clumsy collisions. Also, the focus on proprioception and complex poses train the kids’ working memory, motor planning, and awareness, which require higher cognitive skills and self-regulate behaviors.
Improve Motor Skills
When the kids play around with the Aerial Hammock, every grasp, stretch, push, roll or pull along the hammock will get proprioceptive and tactile input through their entire bodies. Besides providing tactile input, Kids Aerial Yoga also helps to develop motor skills related to a strong hand grasp, i.e. using eating utensils and handwriting. It will train body awareness as well as attention and focus. Furthermore, the Kids Aerial Yoga poses taught in the class will strengthen the muscles, help improve the posture and prevent future injury.

Calming Sensory Experience
When doing an inversion with the support of hammock, kids will feel secure and safe in going upside down and offers a calming sensory experience for kids. It also helps flush fresh blood and healthy hormones through the brain, enhancing their self-regulation and aiding in proper development. Additionally, when coupled with slow and smooth meditative breathing, it will help the kids (especially kids with anxiety or attention disorder) find a sense of calmness. Also, the suspension of the hammock gives a deep pressure, which can stimulate instant calming and promotes sensory integration and self-regulation to the central nervous system.
Be More Confident & Sociable
Kids will develop their social skills by participating in organized group activities. Furthermore, they can learn while playing with the hammock, the floating experience, and literally, just have fun while doing Kids Aerial Yoga. As the class goes on, kids will also reap satisfaction and sense of achievement by completing the challenging poses. In which, they will be empowered to feel strong, confident and more aware, both on and off the mat.
